The Roborock G20S Ultra promises a lot of excitement, and I'm eager to share this unboxing with you. As the latest flagship model from Roborock, its specifications are considered industry-leading. Let's take a look!
Examining the machine, both the base station and robot boast a sleek, mirror-finish design with rounded edges, exuding a high-end and sophisticated appearance. However, this mirror material easily shows fingerprints, and for household appliances, I generally prefer a matte finish.
The base station continues the G20S design with semi-open clean and dirty water tanks. The clean water tank contains silver ions, and the dirty water tank has added deodorizing particles. Opening the lower panel reveals the dust bag compartment and a small box for storing cleaning liquid. Further down, it features ten functions, including UVC ultraviolet sterilization, hot air drying, and automatic water replenishment. Notably, its automatic mop holder removal feature fully enables the robot's pure sweeping mode, eliminating concerns about wetting the carpet. Additionally, the cleaning tray can be completely removed for cleaning, avoiding residual dirt in hard-to-reach areas.
The overall height of the vacuum has been reduced to 7.98 cm, making it the thinnest in the industry. It uses high-precision 3D-ToF solid-state LiDAR instead of the traditional top-mounted LiDAR module. Along with vertical line laser edge sensors and an RGB camera, it forms the Star Navigation 2.0 system, which effectively lowers the height while enhancing route planning and obstacle avoidance capabilities. Opening the top cover reveals the dustbin, which includes a HEPA filter.
This machine also boasts the highest suction power in the industry, reaching 18500 Pa. The primary innovations of the Roborock G20S Ultra lie in its main brush design, which is distinct from current designs that cut hair to prevent tangling. Instead, it uses two conical rollers, causing hair to move towards the center during operation and then be sucked into the dustbin. The side brush features a new spiral design, directly pushing debris into the suction inlet. Additionally, the latest dual mechanical arm design for the main and side brushes from the P series increases cleaning coverage.
What is intriguing is the G series has always been Roborock’s flagship line in China, previously featuring flat vibrating mops. However, the G20S Ultra has adopted the rotating mop used in the P series. From my personal experience, the rotating mop mimics human mopping more closely, making it more psychologically acceptable. Moreover, the machine's rotation speed is faster, mopping the floor 200 times per minute, and tests have shown its mopping capability is indeed exceptional.
To tackle medium to long hair carpets and various height thresholds, major brands offer unique solutions. The Roborock G20S Ultra provides a nearly perfect solution. Its main brush, side brush, and mop are adjustable, allowing the machine to lift 2.2 cm when encountering long hair carpets. This is another significant innovation of the Roborock G20S Ultra. In the sweep-then-mop mode, the mop can be removed within the base station. Furthermore, the walking and universal wheels are independently adjustable, enabling the machine to traverse different terrains, with the official claim that it can cross thresholds up to 4 cm high. These are the Innovative Features of the Roborock G20S Ultra Robot Vacuum.

Currently, the Roborock G20S Ultra is only available in China, with the water tank version priced at 6699 RMB. If you are eager to experience Roborock's latest technology but have a limited budget, you might consider the Roborock Qrevo Curv, which we introduced in our previous episode. It has simplified configurations but shares the same suction power and accessory design as the G20S Ultra.
